The ICOLD and USSD Relationship

ICOLD works with the profession in ensuring that dams are built safely, efficiently, economically, and without detrimental effects on the environment. Its original aim was to encourage advances in the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of large dams and their associated civil works, by collecting and disseminating relevant information and by studying related technical questions.
The United States Society on Dams is the ICOLD National Committee for the US and our members work on nearly every ICOLD technical committee. USSD is also a member of a regional club, ICOLD National Committee of the Americus (INCA). Each year, a number of USSD members attend and present at the ICOLD Annual Meeting.
As a member of USSD you also receive a complementary membership in ICOLD and have access to a myriad of technical resources including the ICOLD Bulletins for free. Participation in ICOLD through USSD opens up access to international projects and experts. Reach out to Tonia at tonia@ussdams.org to receive your members only national code to register as a member of ICOLD.
