George Vayali joins Kleinschmidt Associates as Senior Engineering Consultant
George specializes in planning, designing, and infrastructure construction projects. His expertise includes hydraulic structures such as dams, cofferdams, marine-anchored bulkhead walls, bridges, bridge rehabilitation, tunnels, retaining walls, and associated drainage systems. He has conducted numerous dam safety reviews, inspections, and condition assessments. George has experience in preparing conceptual, preliminary, and final design package estimates and contract documents for new and rehabilitating existing dams.


Ben Cary Named Section Manager at Kleinschmidt 
Ben will share responsibility for managing Kleinschmidt’s growing Hydraulics and Hydrology group along with existing section manager Nick Ciomei. 

Ben has been with Kleinschmidt for four years and has more than 8 years of engineering experience centered around 1D and 2D hydraulic modeling, hydrological engineering, dam breach analysis, and river restoration. He is an enthusiast and teacher of professional education courses on HEC-RAS around the United States and is the host of the popular technical Full Momentum: an HEC-RAS Vodcast.

 
Steve Poteet Joins Kleinschmidt Associates as a Senior Engineering Advisor
Steve has provided engineering services throughout North America for over 43 years. These services include studies, design, and construction of new and existing power plants and upgrades to existing plants. Steve has supported over 50 hydropower and pumped storage overhaul and upgrade projects, resulting in over 800 MW of green hydropower capacity delivered to the grid. He has also managed the engineering to recover two hydro plants from significant catastrophes and has specialized experience in hydro unit uprate studies and implementation, and balance of plant equipment.
