Congratulations to Dina Hunt (Gannett Fleming) on being elected to Vice-President and Matt Muto (So California Edison) on being elected to Secretary-Treasurer at the April 10 Board meeting in San Diego.
USSD experienced the largest attendance of any conference to date with 704 registered attendees plus 84 exhibiting companies and booth staff.

The conference technical program was compiled under the excellent leadership of Chair Joe Goldstein (Geosyntec). It was a monumental task that started several months prior to the conference and finished only a few weeks before its start. His attention to details and organizational skills resulted in a program that received accolades from attendees.
Four finalists presented their research to the Board of Directors and other attendees, vying for $30,000 in scholarship awards.
1st: Lucas Rivera New Mexico State University $10,000
2nd: Brittany Russo University of California, Berkeley $ 8,000
3rd: Jason Poff BYU $ 7,000
4th: Irene Liou University of California, Davis $ 5,000
The above award recipients will be invited back to the 2024 conference to present the progress of their research. Look for more information on these talented individuals in the next issue of the USSD Bulletin.
Sixty-one runners and walkers woke up early and braved a cold San Diego morning to participate in the USSD FUNds Run/Walk to benefit the Scholarship Program.

Junior Lagade (Black & Veatch) led a small but dedicated group at 6:15am on Tuesday and Wednesday for Morning Fitness classes. Thank you Junior!
