USSD is a world class organization of engineering professionals who advance the environmentally sustainable science of planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of dams, levees and associated civil engineering projects. Our members lead the nation, and work with partner organizations worldwide, to resolve the world’s most critical resource problem: access to clean water.

ICOLD News
Don't forget that as a member of USSD you have access to all the publications and programs of ICOLD!
There are Regional Clubs designated for each ICOLD zone to facilitate interchange of knowledge and experience between countries with common interests and environments. As such, USSD participates in the International Committees of the Americas (INCA). Currently two USSD members serve as Co-Presidents of INCA – Marty Teal (WEST Consultants) and John Wolfhope (Freese & Nichols). As part of the goals during the tenure USSD is leading the effort to deliver the International Symposium on the Safety of Dams on May 21-23, 2024, in Puerto Rico. This 3-day event will focus on comparing best practices in dam safety and engineering across countries in the western hemisphere. This event will be a combination of technical presentations, site tours, exhibits, networking, and camaraderie. Industry News & Updates
The Corps Water Infrastructure Financing Program is now accepting applications for credit assistance to support non-federal dam safety projects.
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) leads the national effort to protect and enhance the resilience of the nation's physical and cyber infrastructure. Visit the Dam Sector webpage to view up-to-date information and resources.
