Seismic performance assessments for earth slopes and dams are based on evaluating the permanent displacements induced by earthquake shaking and more recently probabilistic approaches have been proposed to incorporate uncertainties into the analysis. This presentation will describe newly developed predictive models for earthquake-induced slope displacements based on finite element simulations.

Technical expertise is needed to ensure our 2025 Annual Conference content remains high quality and accurate. 4-8-hour commitment: Expanded Submission Reviewers are needed from November to February. Each expanded submission (i.e., "draft paper") will take 30-60 minutes to review. Feedback from this round of reviews will be shared with authors / presenters to help them develop their presentations. 2-3-hour commitment + attendance at annual conference: Session Moderators ensure the onsite delivery of content runs smoothly. There will be a minimum of two moderators assigned to each session or workshop. This commitment involves:

Chinese National Committee on Large Dams (CHINCOLD), Spanish National Committee on Large Dams (SPANCOLD), Brazilian Dam Committee (CBDB) and U.S. Society on Dams (USSD) invite professionals to the 5th International Symposium on Dam Safety, which will be held on Sept. 24-25, 2024, in Yichang City, China. Submit full papers related to the topics below before July 31, 2024.

USSD members may submit a nomination for the 4th International Milestone High Concrete Dam Projects Award to be presented at the Opening Ceremony of the CHINCOLD 2024 Annual Meeting and 5th International Symposium on Dam Safety, Sept. 24-25, 2024, in Yichang, China.
