A new rule will require companies traded on the Nasdaq Composite stock market index to meet requirements for diversity among their boards of directors, including the index's many construction-related firms. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved a Nasdaq rule change on Aug. 6 that requires its listed companies to have diverse boards or release a statement on why they do not. 

Construction and engineering would be among the major beneficiaries of the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill wending its way through Congress, according to an analysis by S&P Global that projects a total of more than 880,000 added jobs by 2030. The bill, which includes $550 billion in new spending, would also have longer-term benefits with increased national productivity, the analysis says.

This is an instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrives. Skills covered in this course include first aid for sudden illnesses, injuries and protection from blood-borne pathogens; choking relief and sudden cardiac arrest for adults. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.

This one-day seminar will navigate attendees through the construction law overlay to a typical construction project from a general contractor and subcontractor prospective. This will begin with the negotiation of prime contract and subcontract, continue through the project documentation of common project-related claims and continue through the claims process until resolution of the case through traditional dispute resolution mechanisms (mediation and arbitration/litigation).
