TEXO Foundation raises funds to support the construction industry through the generous support of our TEXO members. Our goal is that, through university support via scholarships and grants, high-quality employees will be attracted to the Dallas/Fort Worth construction market. In 2021, the TEXO Foundation awarded $25,000 in scholarships to students from regional universities, and we look forward to them starting their career in the North Texas area for employment through internships and upon graduation.

Nonresidential construction spending decreased 0.4% in August due to rising costs of both financing and delivering construction services, reflecting a persistent disparity between high contractor confidence and gloomy macroeconomic trends. Spending shrunk on a monthly basis in 10 of 16 nonresidential subcategories in August, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of data published Monday by the U.S. Census Bureau.

The Essentials of Field Management / Superintendent Bootcamp is designed to expand the knowledge of construction professionals who are looking to grow in their career. This is an instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrive. Skills covered in this course include first aid for sudden illnesses, injuries and protection from blood-borne pathogens, choking relief, and sudden cardiac arrest for adults. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.

OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety course is intended for supervisors or for workers with some safety responsibility. It provides a greater depth and variety of training on an expanded list of topics associated with workplace hazards than the TEXO Safety First class. Topics include recognition, avoidance, abatement and prevention of safety and health hazards found in the workplace.
