Help CIC Find the Next Pacesetter Award Winners!
CMPs, did you happen to attend the 2013 Hall of Leaders Gala, held in conjunction with IMEX America, in Las Vegas, NV, a few months ago? If not, we encourage you to check out a quick recap of the night and see some photos of the five honorees and two Pacesetter Award winners who were recognized. The 2013 HOL Gala is being hailed as one of the best the celebrations that the Convention Industry Council (CIC) has ever organized, with the help of our generous sponsors. And now, on the heels of that successful evening, the CIC has opened the nominations for the 2014 Hall of Leaders and Pacesetter Awards, and we’re asking you to help be our eyes and ears to find the best and brightest emerging leaders in the industry.
For three decades, the Hall of Leaders awards program has honored pioneers who helped build and mold this industry into what it is today. These pioneers inspired and made a way for us, but in an ever-changing industry, it soon became clear that was only part of the story. So, in 2012, the CIC also turned its attention to recognizing emerging leaders and industry supporters whose recent accomplishments chart a course for where the industry is today and where it is going tomorrow. To date, CIC has honored seven (7) individuals with Pacesetter Awards (get to know them here) and is excited about the opportunity to showcase outstanding achievement in "real time," in addition to honoring accomplishments achieved over a lifetime. That’s where we need your help.
Do you know forward thinkers who have made a difference and are helping shape the industry into what it is today? Do you have any co-workers, organizational chapter officers, FB friends, or know of any risk-takers whose achievements have inspired others and improved the industry? If so, consider nominating that person for recognition.
There are five categories of Pacesetter Awards:
• Young Professionals Award – Emerging leaders who already are making an impact on the industry
• Sustainability and Social Responsibility Award – People taking the lead in these initiatives
• Innovation Award – People whose new ideas, techniques, products or concepts are improving the industry
• Friend of the Industry Award – Business leader or public official leveraging the business value of meetings
• Chairman’s Award – Citing special recognition and accomplishments, as determined by CIC
Complete guidelines and nominations can be found on our website. The deadline for nominations is February 3, 2014, so don’t delay.
