Time to recertify? You now have two options

In 1990, Nelson Mandela was released from prison and the Berlin Wall fell. Windows95 and JavaScript debuted in 1995. Like Y2k, some things are meant to be forgotten. But, others – like the opening of the Tate Modern in London in 2000 ­– are meant to last. YouTube was founded in 2005 and, in 2010, Vancouver hosted the Winter Olympics.

Do you remember highlights from the year you earned your CMP? As memorable as those events are, investing in your personal and professional development makes all the difference. Did you know that studies show CMPs earn, on average, $10,000 USD more than those who do not have it?

If you earned your certification in a year ending in zero or five, then it's time for you to go through the process again, too.

You now have two options:

• Option A: Recertify by the deadline of 11:59 p.m. EST on 31 December 2020. You will remain as an active status CMP, which means you can continue to utilise your certification and digital badge. EIC has held the recertification fee at $225 USD this year, and will continue to do so until the 31 December 2020 deadline. Recertify now
• Option B: If a CMP misses the 31 December 2020 deadline, they are "lapsed," are no longer certified and are not able to use the CMP marks, or digital badge. However, you can now reinstate your certification without taking the exam if you apply for reinstatement before 11:59 p.m. EST on 31 December 2021. The reinstatement fee is $375 USD.
