Peters, Revnew, Kappenman & Anderson, P.A®
With the January 1, 2024, implementation of the earned sick and safe time legislation and all of the other recently enacted employment-related legislation in Minnesota, it’s important to ensure your company’s policies and handbooks are in compliance with all the new laws. If you have not updated your handbook this year, your company is almost certainly not in compliance.

Contact Martin Kappenman at 952.921.4603 or mkappenman@pklaborlaw.com for policy/handbook review or questions regarding any employment-related concerns.

Preventing Falls in Construction
Across the country, statistics show that more than one-third of all construction fatalities are related to falls. This continues to be the leading cause of death for construction employees. In Minnesota, in the past five years, the annual average number of fatalities under MNOSHA jurisdiction was 32. MNOSHA investigated each of those 160 fatalities. Forty of those were related to falls from elevation, which ranked second highest behind “contact with an object or equipment.”
