News From Your Government Affairs Director
By: Chip Tatum
It's Official!
FAA's proposed legislation has left drafting and is now Senate Bill (SB) #426. SB426 would enable professional process servers to deliver the Writ of Possession (not execute it) in an eviction. The objective is to minimize the time elapsed between the court approving an eviction to proceed and the Writ being delivered. We anticipate that SB426 will have a house companion bill number shortly. Many thanks to Senator Jack Latvala and Representative Frank Artiles for agreeing to sponsor our bill!
We are also monitoring many other bills that have been filed and/or proposed. These include Toxic Contamination Notification, adding protected classes, illegal immigration and much more.
