Independent Rentals Owners Panel Discussion to Take Place at FAA Education Conference
As part of FAA’s efforts to get independent and small apartment owners more involved with the association, we are offering a special event and registration for these owners at our conference on Friday, Oct. 12. This will begin with the 9:45-11 a.m. Independent Rental Owner/Manager Panel composed of Marc Rosenwasser, Meadow Wood Property Company; Robert Griffiths, Griffiths Properties; and Robert Smith, Smith Equities. This will be moderated by Chip Tatum, AAGO’s Executive Vice President.
The panel discussion will address many issues affecting independent rental owners and property managers of communities comprising 125 units or less. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about issues that are handled by executive managers at large management companies, but fall on your lap as an IRO owner or manager. Issues such as property maintenance, marketing, budgeting, insurance, green savings, crime prevention, technology, resident screening and property taxes will be addressed. The seminar will be very interactive, with plenty of opportunity for questions from the audience. Attendees are guaranteed to leave with money saving ideas! After the discussion, IROs will join other attendees at the 144-booth trade show, with many supplier companies eager to do business with our independent rental owners. Plus, lunch will be served on the trade show floor. Each new IRO who joins their local apartment association will leave with a list of other IROs, who will be invited to monthly webinars to continue the dialog on important matters that affect them and their properties.
The registration is only $75 for owners of 125 units or less, and the IRO may bring a guest for another $25. If you're not currently a member of a local association, your registration fee will be applied to your membership fee. To pre-register, print the registration form and send it to the FAA office, or you may register on-site at the Omni ChampionsGate Resort. If you have questions or trouble registering, please call the FAA office at 407-647-8839.
