Certified Fence Contractor testing is offered at the conclusion of Fence Contractor Business School, for those eligible. Individuals must have a minimum of three years of experience in the fence contracting field in order to quality, and individuals who have less than 10 years’ experience must complete the Fence Contractor Business School and have an approved certification application on file in order to sit for the exams.
This requires a separate registration and fee, and includes two Pre-Qualification exams that are conducted electronically via the internet (at no additional cost), which are based on study materials covering fence discipline fundamentals and core topics, including personal safety, post hole digging, truck loading and materials, and other related subjects.
The exams consist of six written tests based on the six major courses of study taught at the Fence Contractor Business School. The certification is good for three years and requires continuing education to be maintained during that period.
The Certified Fence Contractor designation is issued by the Accreditation and Certification Institute, a third party credentialing organization created by AFA.
