Northeast Chapter
The NE Chapter of AFA will hold its biennial trade show on Jan. 5-6, 2018 the Mystic Marriott Hotel and Spa. This is the largest trade show in 2018 on the East Coast and is heavily attended. On Jan. 5 there will be educational seminars, booth set up, and of course, the popular cocktail party. On Jan. 6 will be the trade show and educational seminars. Mystic is a beautiful coastal village and has many local attractions such as historic Mystic Seaport, the Submarine Museum at Groton and the hotel is located 20 minutes from Foxwoods Casino. If you are not registered with the NE Chapter and wish to attend please email jbranchini@hastiefence.com to be added to the email list.

AFA is offering several schools and education sessions at FENCETECH 2018 in Phoenix, Arizona. There are topics for all levels of employees. Review the full schedule online.
The Automated Gate System Designer (AGSD), Fence Installation School Core (FIS), and Sales Training School (STS) are one full day and one half days beginning on Tuesday, February 6. The education sessions will run concurrently and cannot be attended if you register for a school.

The Vinyl Manufacturers Association (VMA), a division of the AFA, will host its Annual Meeting and education session, ICC-ES AC174: Acceptance Criteria for Deck Board Span Ratings and Guardrail Systems, at FENCETECH 2018. Make plans to attend both meetings on Wednesday, February 7.

Certifications and accreditations establish credibility within the industry and help to distinguish those who obtain them from their competitors. The American Fence Association offers eligible candidates the opportunity to attain the following certifications: Blue Ribbon Company (BRC), Certified Automated Gate Certified Operator Installer (CAGCOI), Certified Automated Gate Systems Designer (CAGSD) and Certified Fence Professional (CFP).
