Several testing events for Certified Fence Contractor, Certified Gate Automation Designer, and Certified Gate Automation Technician exams are scheduled for the next few months, including the following:
• November 5 – Arlington, TX (AFA University)
• November 13 – Arlington, TX (AFA University)
• February 16 –17, 2022 – New Orleans (FENCETECH 2022)
Dates are being added regularly, and registration will open soon. For the most up-to-date list of testing events or to reserve your seat, visit https://acieducation.org/events.
All current candidates, including those looking to retake an exam, are welcome to register for any of these testing events. Currently there is no fee for retakes. ACI is accepting applications for test sites across the country. If you have more than five candidates in your area who wish to test and a facility that meets ACI’s requirements, we encourage you to apply. There is no cost to host a test site if you meet the minimum requirements. Test site details and the application are available at https://acieducation.org/test_sites.

The American Fence Association's Education Foundation (AFAEF) in conjunction with the generous support of contributing organizations has established a need-based scholarship program consisting of five $5,000 scholarships to assist deserving students finance their education. In order to be eligible to receive one of these scholarships, you must submit a completed application online. The program is need-based and is NOT limited to AFA members, but restricted to applicants associated with the fence industry. Award winners will be announced at FENCETECH 2022 in New Orleans, LA.

The Chain Link Fence Manufacturers Institute (CLFMI) is now accepting applications for its 2020-2021 Les Grube Memorial Design Award contest. The deadline to submit your application is November 1, 2021.
The award is given to the project which makes the best and most unique use of chain link fence materials. Winners receive a uniquely-designed plaque, as well as cash awards of $2,500 to the designing architect and $1,000 to the installing contractor. CLFMI stipulates that in order to qualify for the Les Grube Memorial Design Award, the nominated project must:
- Employ an innovative use of chain link fence materials (fabric, framework, and/or gates) on a commercial or industrial project.
- Be conceived by a professional architectural or engineering firm.
- Be installed by a professional fence contractor.
