Tiger Cool Express Appoints Steve Van Kirk as New CEO
Tiger Cool Express (TCX) announced today that Steve Van Kirk will lead TCX as its new CEO. Van Kirk is replacing Tom Finkbiner, current CEO of TCX.
Prior to joining TCX, Van Kirk was president of Swift Intermodal, a position he held for five years. He also spent 12 years at Schneider National leading several commercial, logistics and intermodal groups. His success in transportation is rooted in his appreciation of shipper requirements, which he learned first-hand during his five years with Procter & Gamble. Van Kirk also served as an infantry officer in the United States Army for 12 years, attaining the rank of major. He had various postings around the world, and served as a West Point faculty member. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York, and holds graduate degrees from Yale University and the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater.
Van Kirk observed: "I am excited to join TCX as CEO. As one of the pioneers in temperature controlled intermodal services, TCX is poised for continued outstanding growth. The TCX founders and team members have built a world class company. I look forward to working with both our employees and partners to take the business to the next level and to ensure first class service and a robust value proposition for our customers."
Finkbiner, who had previously announced his intention to transition from CEO, said: "On behalf of the entire TCX team we are thrilled to have Steve join TCX as our new CEO. His track record of success managing sophisticated intermodal networks and adding value makes him the right person to lead TCX in its next phase of growth." Simultaneous with Van Kirk’s appointment, Finkbiner will move to non-executive chairman of the board of directors.
