In February Walmart unveiled what its dubbed the WAVE (Walmart Advanced Vehicle Experience) concept truck as part of a broader push to incorporate sustainability into the megastore’s operations. According to the company statement, the truck will be 20 percent more aerodynamic than the current fleet and will use a "micro-turbine hybrid powertrain" than can run on diesel, natural gas, biodiesel and "probably other fuels still to be developed."

At a national trade show, a Cheektowaga delivery company is displaying its propane powered FedEx delivery truck, the first such vehicle that’s contractor owned in the U.S. The truck, owned by Jon Chase, CEO of Chase Delivery, was unveiled Thursday by Roush CleanTech at the NETA Work Truck Show in Indianapolis.

One trucking company will replace another after an ownership change for a West Sacramento industrial building, but more will change than just names on the sides of the cab. Jim Walker of Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate said the new owners of the 44,000-square-foot building, Rapid Logistics, operate 100 refrigerated produce trucks that haul fruits and vegetables all over the country, a few more than the two trucks the previous tenant uses.
