Food Business News Riviana Foods announced this week the completion of two new silos at its Clearbrook, Minn. facility. The move increases Riviana's available storage capacity by 50% for its wild rice storage, drying and production. Riviana is North America's largest processor of branded and private label rice products, including Minute, Mahatma and Success rice.

Progressive Railroad In a second merger agreement this year, Canadian Pacific (CP) will acquire Kansas City Southern (KCS) in a sale valued at approximately $31 billion. Referring to the new, single-line offerings along the U.S.-Mexico-Canada rail network, CP President and Chief Executive Officer Keith Creel said the partnership creates a "perfect end-to-end combination."
