YT: NEW – Yukon strategy for climate change, energy and a green economy

In January 2020, the CPA participated in the Yukon Government’s Our Clean Future consultation. After reviewing the strategy and supporting documents with members, the CPA provided comments that can assist in accomplishing the targeted reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and developing a robust green economy.
As CPA member companies have been operating in Yukon for decades, propane as a clean source of power is perfect for applications as diverse as heating commercial and residential buildings, fuelling vehicles, agriculture and greenhouses as well as powering mines, and as a back-up power source for the generation of electricity amongst many others.
For the CPA, including propane in policy and program development to transition to a lower carbon economy will help Yukon meet GHG targets and will result in an immediate energy solution to create green economy jobs.
