On February 18, the CPA met with staff from the Environment Department and Climate Change Division for the Province of Nova Scotia to discuss the game-changing advantages of propane and ensure the inclusion of propane in future policy goals to reduce GHGs.

CPA’s Atlantic Chair Royden Boudreau, Vice-Chair Lee Johnson, Vice-President Government Relations Allan Murphy and Government Relations Director for Atlantic Canada, Jean-Francois Duguay participated in the meeting. Discussion focused on the CPA’s pre-budget submission recommendations and emphasized the development of an off-oil program to reduce GHGs emissions for residential and commercial consumers by switching to propane. The transportation sector was also discussed, with the CPA encouraging the expanded use of propane for school buses and the replacement or retrofit of commercial diesel and gasoline fleet vehicles to propane.
