UPDATE – BC: CPA efforts rewarded with the discontinuation of non-compliance course fees

Technical SafetyBC (TSBC) has made the decision to discontinue charging a fee to attend non-compliance courses.

Last fall, the CPA wrote to TSBC to express concern about the fees TSBC was charging to attend its top non-compliance courses. The fee was intended to encourage greater course attendance. However, TSBC saw a decline in enrollments following the introduction of the nominal fee, even during a time that online learning enrollments should have been higher due to no in-person learning sessions during the pandemic. Since the nominal fee did not achieve its original intent of encouraging course attendance, as well as taking into consideration the CPA’s feedback, TSBC announced they will discontinue the nominal fee for these courses.
