CPA member Maxquip’s auto propane system supplier, Prins Augutos, is celebrating 35 years this year.

The company was founded 35 years ago on September 12 in Eindhoven (NL) developing and supplying LPG systems. The Dutch engineer Yde Prins started ‘Prins Carburatiesystemen’ in the early 80’s but it was in 1986 that Ad Smulders took over the company and started Prins Autogassystemen B.V.

Over the years Prins had several business owners that all contributed to the success achieved today. Since 2016, Prins is part of Westport Fuel Systems, a supplier of advanced fuel delivery components and systems for clean, low-carbon fuels such as natural gas, LPG (Autogas), and hydrogen to the global automotive industry.

As a brand, Prins continues to provide value to the automotive industry worldwide..

Bart van Aerle, General Manager Prins and VP Strategy Westport Fuel Systems: “It is with extreme gratitude that we proudly reflect on our successes and innovations. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all our colleagues, customers, suppliers and partners all over the world. Thank you for your contribution towards 35 years of successes, and many more to come!”
