On October 15, the Manitoba government announced $1 million in grants from the Conservation and Climate Fund to nine organizations for green projects throughout the province.
The government says these projects support its ongoing commitment to green investments that align with the Made-in-Manitoba Climate and Green Plan. It also says they encourage a cleaner environment, climate adaptation and low-carbon economic growth in a province where the transportation industry is responsible for nearly 40% of the province’s total carbon output.
Of note, the grants were awarded to the University of Manitoba Office of Sustainability ($69,000) to support the electrification of fleet vehicles as well as the Association of Manitoba Bilingual Municipalities (AMBM), (about $114,000) to support education regarding the transition to zero-emission vehicles by municipalities.
The CPA will advance discussions on the benefits of propane with the University of Manitoba, the AMBM and key stakeholder groups in Manitoba.
