The Ontario Energy Association annual conference held on Sept. 27 allowed participants and speakers to share industry and political insight into the factors that may influence the next provincial election in June 2022.

Innovative Research Group President and Founder, Greg Lyle presented compelling recent polling results on the Ontario electorate’s political priorities and identified those parties and voter groups that could exert significant influence during the next election.

Key among his study findings for propane providers was that affordability trumps the environment as a priority issue identified by respondents.

Provincial politicians responsible for energy portfolios also weighed in on the records of their parties, opponents and their respective energy priorities.

CPA’s Director of Government Relations for Ontario, Marcelline Riddell, will continue to monitor and report on energy initiatives/issues and advocate for members.
