NEW – BC: "Stronger climate plan for a better future"

The B.C. government announced on October 25 a more ambitious climate plan to deliver on its previous climate commitments. The roadmap accelerates previous emissions measures and introduces new ideas to help B.C. achieve the Paris emissions reduction targets for 2030 and reach net-zero by 2050.

The roadmap notes the importance of municipal infrastructure, transportation networks, building efficiency, industrial energy efficiency, vehicle standards and energy utilities as key components of the provincial climate strategy.

The CPA sees an opportunity to engage with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to advocate for the inclusion of propane in alignment with provincial emissions reductions goals.

The Association and its members need to be engaged in the decarbonization conversation by communicating the environmental benefits of propane to key stakeholders and decision-makers.

The CPA will continue to advocate at the provincial and municipal levels in B.C., specifically on ensuring propane is included when discussing low-carbon emissions reductions policy.

The announcement can be found here.
