UPDATE – Federal: CPA continues Line 5 advocacy with planned op-ed

As part of the CPA’s ongoing advocacy with Enbridge Line 5, the CPA will be issuing a national op-ed in first quarter of 2022 in support of the pipeline.
The op-ed will focus on the importance of propane, highlighted during these cold winter months. The CPA has consistently messaged that any prolonged disruption of Line 5 would have severe and lasting consequences on the supply of propane to Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
Line 5 is the only supply of propane via pipeline into Southern Ontario and it is the feeder pipe into the Sarnia Fractionator, which has over 100,000 barrels of capacity per day. Propane is approximately 70 per cent of that capacity.
The CPA will continue its advocacy at the federal, and provincial levels, alongside Enbridge and other key partners, on this important issue. For further information, please contact Katie Kachur at katiekachur@propane.ca
