On December 7, the CPA will be meeting with senior officials in the Newfoundland and Labrador government to discuss the opportunities for propane school buses.
The upcoming discussions were borne out of a meeting held earlier this year with NL Energy Minister Andrew Parsons, his senior officials, and CPA’s SVP GR Allan Murphy who was joined by Board member Darren Eavis and Dennis Lewis, an executive with CPA member North Atlantic.
In the approaching meeting, Murphy, Eavis, and Lewis will be joined by Max Bouchard from school bus manufacturer Bluebird as well as Derek Whaley and Ryan Zic from a leading propane engine manufacturer, Roush Clean Tech out of Livonia, Michigan.
The discussions will focus on the significant advantages of the affordability of propane as a transportation fuel, relative to diesel and gasoline, the superior quality of the propane engine that results in savings in maintenance, and most importantly a healthier transportation experience for students and drivers.
