Continuing the priority of external facing advocacy, the CPA was in Prince George, B.C. for the annual Natural Resources Summit in January 2023. This annual event brought together key stakeholders from across the province including Premier Eby, members of the NDP caucus, Opposition leader Kevin Falcon and members from his caucus, Indigenous leaders, and mayors and city councillors from Northern B.C.
The theme for 2023 was How BC is contributing to an innovative, responsible, and respectful international natural resource sector. The CPA represented the role propane should play, especially in rural, remote and Indigenous communities not connected to the grid. CPA members active in B.C. are encouraged to consider participating in this important event.
CPA Board Chair Nancy Borden, CPA President & CEO Shannon Watt and CPA VP of Government Relations, West Katie Kachur were in Victoria the week of February 13 meeting with new leaders and decisionmakers in the B.C. government to increase awareness of propane.
