The CPA held its 2018 Atlantic Seminar & Golf Tournament on June 20 and 21 in Dieppe, New Brunswick. As always, the event was well attended, with over 35 delegates enjoying a beautiful day on the greens of the Fox Creek Golf and Country Club and participating in the informative and engaging seminar, held at the Hotel Wingate Dieppe.
Seminar speakers included the Hon. Roger Melanson, President of Treasury Board, Minister of Post-Secondary Education and Minister of Aboriginal Affairs; Donald Merriam from ERAC; Mathieu Tessier from Marex Solutions; Eric Dubé from the City of Dieppe; Transport Canada representatives; and Andrew de Freitas, National Account Manager for CN Rail.
During his presentation, de Freitas assured CPA members that CN is focused on the timely delivery of products that include propane and is looking at strategies to help deal with challenges such as bottlenecking and load capacity limitations brought on by extreme cold winter conditions. He also noted that safety is of utmost importance to CN and it is committed to ensuring that conditions for employees, communities, customers, and the railroad itself, are as safe as possible.
