The CPA is pleased to welcome Rebecca Keeler as the new Vice-President, Regulatory Affairs and Safety, Jeffrey Orman as the new Director, Propane Training Institute and Regulatory Affairs, and Joannie Bouchard as the new Coordinator, Communications and Membership.
Vice-President, Regulatory Affairs & SafetyRebecca Keeler has a Bachelor of Applied Science, with Honours in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto. She has six years of environmental and regulatory experience working as an Environmental and Regulatory Specialist at Imperial Oil and as an Industrial/Environmental Engineer at the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER). She has managed regulatory and environmental compliance for downstream assets in Canada, which has given her a broad understanding of provincial and federal legislation, codes and standards, and the opportunity to work with regulators across the country. She has experience in fields such as Transportation of Dangerous Goods, the National Fire Code, E2 Environmental Emergencies Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety and provincial fuels storage regulations. She has monitored regulatory change and ensured operations were meeting requirements, which includes potential updates to training and internal procedures. As an Industrial Engineer, Rebecca has reviewed and coordinated environmental assessments for large industrial projects, which included guiding and mentoring a team of technical staff. Rebecca will be based in the Calgary office and she starts May 6.
Director, Propane Training Institute & Regulatory AffairsJeffrey Orman has a B. Sc in Physics/Computers and a B. Ed from Queen’s University, and a Master of Nuclear Engineering from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. Jeffrey is grateful for his many team experiences: over 15 years as an instructor; and over 20 years in needs analysis, development, implementation and evaluation of training. He has led training projects as well as created and administered operational procedures, course material and certification exams. He has also performed quality assurance through evaluation/audit of training programs, procedures, instructors, and records for many organizations. The bulk of his work has been in the physical sciences areas of nuclear/radiation, aviation, environment, and chemical production. As a training consultant, he has built the skill to work with stakeholders, procure equipment/services, budget and manage projects. Jeffrey started April 23 and is based in the Ottawa office. Joannie Bouchard has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Management from the University of Ottawa. She has recently graduated and has worked in communication for the Telfer School of Management for the last eight months. She also had the opportunity to be a communication intern for the Parliament of Canada. She will be working on the CPA's communications, social media and membership relations.
