ERAC wants to assure members that they are monitoring the COVID-19 situation and are adhering to recommendations from public health authorities. ERAC’s number one priority is the safety of their staff, Plan Participant members and their responder network.
Early on, they identified their essential services and put a plan in place for continued operations. They remain prepared to respond to any dangerous goods incident across the country on behalf of their Plan Participants.
They’ve also asked their response network to notify ERAC if their availability changes due to COVID-19 so that they can plan accordingly, including dispatching the next closest team or RMA/TA in case of an incident.
Due to the situation, all travel by ERAC staff is still restricted to dangerous goods emergency response incidents only, and all meetings at ERAC, internal and external, are virtual. All staff has been teleworking since mid-March and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future to do their part in physical distancing.
