The 2030 Green Economy Plan officially came into effect on April 1, with $1.131 billion earmarked for the first year of its implementation. The province has announced a new 12-member Advisory Committee on Climate Change to advise the minister on addressing climate change and help implement the plan, including promoting electrification. Its mandate is to advise the minister on direction, programs, policies and strategies to combat climate change, taking into account the evolution of scientific and technological knowledge as well as scientific consensus in this area. Released last November, the Plan for a Green Economy 2030 has $6.7 billion in funding over five years. As of April 1, a record $1.13 billion has been allocated to implement the plan.
