More than 100 members attended the 2022 CPA Leadership Summit and golf tournament held from May 17-19 at the Rimrock Resort in Banff, AB. It was an opportunity for members and associates from across Canada to meet and discuss important aspects of the propane industry under the unifying theme Energy For All.
The sessions brought together professionals and individuals from all spheres of the industry. Their thought-provoking content provided interesting perspectives for the sector.
New CPA President and CEO Shannon Watt, in her first address to members, spoke to the exciting future of propane due to its incredible versatility, reliability, low emissions and affordability. Propane checks all the boxes and can be delivered to Canadians from coast to coast to coast. She mentioned, however, that more data is required from the sector, to help push propane forward on Canada's path to a low-carbon future.

Presenters shared the latest trends, data, and opinions on propane’s role in decarbonisation, advocacy and membership, the importance of data, Indigenous engagement and opportunity, use of renewable propane and emergency response management.
A presentation on the CPA’s recent lifecycle analysis of propane GHG emissions study was also a topic of discussion.
The CPA was honoured with a guest appearance by Randy Spracklin, host of HGTV Canada’s Rock Solid Builds. Randy has been a big supporter of the industry since the CPA’s sponsorship of his show that began in August of last summer. Randy even braved the wintery-like weather alongside members to golf at the beautiful Banff Springs Golf Course Thursday morning.
