On June 15, 2022, Natural Resources Canada launched a call for proposals to fund clean fuels awareness projects. Deadline to submit projects is September 13, 2022.

Ontario voters elected 83 Progressive Conservative, 31 New Democratic Party, eight Liberal and one Green MPP on June 2, 2022. The Tories captured most of the GTA, northern and southwestern Ontario ridings, representing a wide swath of propane users. Of note, the PCs took two Windsor ridings away from the NDP, and the long-time NDP stronghold of Hamilton East-Stoney Creek fell to the Tories.

The CPA Atlantic Seminar held at the Crowbush Resort in Morell PEI on June 16 featured important topics for the propane industry. In his opening remarks CPA Atlantic Chair Royden Boudreau said one of the main challenges the industry faces is within government policies which are focused on electricity and do not consider clean propane.

The CPA will continue to support the efforts of Private Members Bill C-234 as it makes its way through the various stages of the House of Commons and the Senate before coming into law.
|
The CPA has set a focus to speak to more external audiences at energy-centered events. This will meet two important mandates: raise the profile of the industry and ensure that key stakeholders are aware of the role that propane can and should play in the energy transition.

As part of the new member data collection initiative, the CPA sent a rail survey request out to the primary member contacts the CPA has on file on June 1.
