On October 24, the CPA appeared before the Senate Committee on Energy, Environment and Natural Resources in what was a very productive meeting. The Senate Committee is conducting an in-depth study on the effects, challenges and costs of transitioning to a lower carbon economy.
 
 
   
On October 11 and 12, CPA President and CEO Nathalie St-Pierre and Vice President of Government Relations Allan Murphy attended the Generation Energy conference in Winnipeg, MB hosted by Canada’s Natural Resources Minister, the Hon. Jim Carr.
 
Throughout October and November, the CPA continued to advocate on key industry issues to the Ontario Government. In particular, lobbying efforts have focused on the inclusion of propane in the new Green Commercial Vehicle Program (GCVP) and CPA’s proposal for a new Rural Propane Retrofit Program.

The CPA has issued a news release, Canadians Recommended to Fill Propane Tanks and Be Prepared, to encourage residents to ensure their propane tanks are full in preparation for the long winter. 
 
On October 27, the Government of Manitoba released its Made-in-Manitoba Climate and Green Plan. The plan is built on the strategic pillars of climate, jobs, water and nature, and includes 16 keystones for priority action that will support Manitoba’s economy and sustain the environment for future generations.
 
New Brunswick Premier Brian Gallant says his government will introduce carbon pricing that helps combat climate change while respecting his province's economic realities.

A fire department and its firefighters are only as good as their training. And it takes diligence to provide effective training and resources for first responders. Emergency Response Assistance Canada (ERAC) conducts a mobile LPG firefighting training program with fire departments across Canada.
