This week, the CPA is attending a number of meetings to discuss the transportation of dangerous goods.

At the TDG General Policy Advisory Council (GPAC), discussion issues include harmonization, rail security, emergency response, and training. Chaired by CPA’s Vice-President of Regulatory Affairs and Safety, Mélanie Levac, the TDG GPAC was established in 1985 under the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act to counsel the Minister of Transport on various strategic, safety and social issues relating to the transportation of dangerous goods. GPAC members and other subject matter experts, attending as invited guests, continue to meet at least twice a year in Ottawa, Ontario.

Additional meeting details to follow in the next Regulatory Affairs newsletter.
