Equivalency Certificates Reminder

Print this Article

The CPA holds a number of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Equivalency Certificates on behalf of members. These allow activities related to transporting dangerous goods to be carried out in a way that do not comply with the TDG Regulations, if they provide an equivalent level of safety.

We remind you that all the terms and conditions in a certificate must be adhered to at all times.

Subsection 31(4) of the TDG Act, 1992 stipulates that non-compliance with any of the terms or conditions invalidates the certificate. In addition, subsection 31(6) of the same act gives the Minister, or a designated person, the authority to revoke the certificate. All other requirements of the TDG Regulations must be complied with except for those specified in the certificate.
