BC: Technical Safety BC Seeking Industry Feedback

Print this Article

Technical Safety BC (TSBC) is seeking industry review and comments on draft directive D-GA-2018-XX: Gas – Special Purpose Certificate of Qualification.

The directive sets out the requirements for a Special Purpose Gas Certificate of Qualification in accordance with the Gas Safety Regulation (GSR). Under Section 19 of the GSR, an individual with specialized appliance or equipment training approved by the Provincial Gas Safety Manager can apply for a Special Purpose Gas Certificate of Qualification (SPCQ). An SPCQ entitles the holder to perform regulated gas work specific to the terms and conditions endorsed on the certificate. The training program approval process must be completed prior to an individual submitting an SPCQ application; those submitted before the completion of training will be denied.

Interested members can forward their comments to Darren Cunningham at darrencunningham@propane.ca by Wednesday May 30, 2018 to be included in any response to TSBC.
