BC: TSBC – Renew Power Engineer, Operator & Safety Awareness Certificates by December 2

Print this Article

As a trusted partner in safety, the CPA has been advised that because of the recent alignment with the other Canadian provinces on the Power Engineers, Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Refrigeration Safety Regulation, Technical Safety BC requires that all power engineer, operator and safety awareness certificates of qualification must be renewed.

All certifications will remain valid if renewed before December 2, 2018. You will be included in a database of active qualified individuals in good standing and will have a new security-enhanced wallet card that will help reduce identity falsification in the industry mailed to you. You will have proof of qualification for current and prospective employers. By renewing and updating your information you will also be emailed important safety information (e.g., new directives, changes to regulations).

There is no fee for renewal applications received before December 2, 2018. If not renewed, certificates become invalid after December 2, 2018. Once expired, the certificate holder is not legally permitted to work and will need to apply for reinstatement, which may include a reinstatement fee. For details on how to renew your application online through your online account click here.

All certificates renewed before the deadline will be valid until the first day of the certificate holder’s birth month in 2021.

If you do not have an online account, go to the TSBC login page and click on ‘Not Registered?’ to complete and submit the account registration form.
