QC : Decision by the Régie de l’Énergie on Annual Contributions to ETQ

On July 25, 2018, the Régie de l’Énergie issued a provisional decision on the priority request to determine the annual contribution payable to Energy Transition Québec (ETQ) by energy distributors and a procedural decision on the applications for intervenor status, processing schedule and fees for intervenors.

The Canadian Propane Association (CPA) and the Association québécoise du propane (AQP) were granted intervenor status in this matter.

The Régie has established the following on a provisional basis until its final decision:

  • Total annual contribution of distributors of $85.2 million
  • Distribution of the annual contribution by distributors according to types of energy based on ETQ ratios
  • Annual contribution of distributors as follows:

Electricity $58.7880 M (69.0%)
Natural gas $16.2732 M (19.1%)
Light fuel oil $3.8340 M (4.5%)
Gas $2.7264 M (3.2%)

Heavy fuel oil $0.8520 M (1.0%)
Propane $0.7668 M (0.9%)
