ON: TSSA Advisory: Boilers and Pressure Vessels Safety and Fuels Safety Programs Involvement in Piping Systems in Fuel Services

On September 4, 2018, the TSSA released the following advisory: Boilers and Pressure Vessels Safety and Fuels Safety Programs Involvement in Piping Systems in Fuel Services.

In the province of Ontario, piping systems in fuel services are regulated under the Technical Standards and Safety Act and several regulations administered by the Boilers and Pressure Vessels Safety (BPVS) and Fuels Safety (FS) programs.  Within TSSA, the BPVS program administers the Boilers and Pressure Vessels Regulation (O. Reg. 220/01) while the FS program administers regulations applicable to piping systems that carry fuels such as natural gas, propane, fuel oil and gasoline.

The advisory summarizes the responsibilities under these Regulations.
