Print this Article

On September 11, 2018, the Government of Ontario posted Bill 4 on the Environmental Registry of Ontario (ERO) for a 30-day comment period.

The Environmental Registry is where the public can consult and take part in government decision-making that might affect the environment. The Government of Ontario consults on the registry by posting notices on what they are doing and providing a process for the public to comment.

Bill 4 repeals the Climate Change Mitigation and Low-carbon Economy Act, 2016 and addresses various matters related to the wind down of the Cap and Trade Program. It also establishes a requirement for the Minister to prepare a climate change plan and to prepare progress reports in respect of the plan.

The CPA intends to participate in the Environmental Registry public consultation and remains actively engaged to represent the propane industry and CPA members.

For more information or should you have any suggestions or feedback for the CPA, please contact Hando Kang, Regional Director, Ontario at handokang@propane.ca or by phone at 647.881.1483.
