NEW! Reminder: Stationary tanks permanently mounted on trailers are non-compliant

Print this Article

The CPA reminds members that liquified petroleum gases (LPG) being transported in stationary tanks permanently mounted on trailers are non-compliant with respect to the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, 1992 (TDG Act), Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations and the applicable Canadian Standards Association (CSA) standards, namely CSA B620 and B622.

Transport Canada has observed non-compliances in the past and issued an explanatory note on August 29, 2017. The explanatory note can be viewed on The Grid.

It is imperative that CPA members comply with all conditions set out in the TDG Act, Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations and the applicable CSA standards.
