ON: Propane Orders Reassessment Report - last chance to comment

Print this Article

The Ontario Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) provided industry stakeholders with a revised Propane Orders Reassessment Report in May 2019 for review and comment.

As part of its ongoing review and reassessment of orders issued under the Fuels Safety Act and regulations related to propane under the Act as well as CSA codes 149.1 and 149.2, the TSSA recently circulated a report to Risk Reduction Group (RRG) members containing reassessments to 24 orders (based on issue frequency and risk). As a result of this exercise, 11 of the 24 areas identified had risk scores adjusted downward. The TSSA is seeking industry input into these reassessment determinations, which will be reflected in revised inspection schedules.

It is important for the propane industry to agree with the risk scores associated with non-compliances that occur in the industry, because this is how the TSSA will evaluate risk in the propane industry and associated activities (inspections, fees, and other TSSA obligations).

Please review the following report and provide any comments you’d like to convey to the TSSA to Marcelline Riddell at marcellineriddell@propane.ca by June 7.
