Reminder: Federal – CANUTEC’s free 24-hour emergency telephone number

The CPA would like to remind members of the Canadian Transport Emergency Centre’s (CANUTEC) free, 24-hour emergency response telephone number, which can be used on your dangerous goods shipping documents.

The Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations (TDGR) require consignors to place a 24-hour emergency telephone number on the shipping documents. Any Canadian consignor of dangerous goods may register with CANUTEC. Registration does not apply to carriers (i.e. freight forwarders, transport companies, etc.) unless they are also a consignor on the shipping document.
