Update: ON – Stewardship Ontario’s Municipal Hazardous or Special Waste program wind up plan approved

Stewardship Ontario’s proposed Wind Up Plan for the Municipal Hazardous or Special Waste (MHSW) Program has been approved by the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA). The news release outlining the conditions of this approval can be viewed here.

Stewardship Ontario is conducting another webinar consultation on program residual funds, which the CPA will participate in, on January 22, 2020. The timeline for the MHSW wind up program for propane cylinders remains on June 30, 2021. The CPA is developing a plan for an industry-led small propane cylinder recycling program (check out Employment Opportunity at the CPA to learn about the new position the CPA has developed to support this exciting initiative).
