Update: Important reminder – Remain compliant! Equivalency certificate renewals

Print this Article

The CPA received renewal certificates in December 2019 (see Important reminder – Remain compliant! Change TDG equivalencies in your vehicles for the current versions, published January 16, 2020). To support members in compliance with the certificates, the CPA will be featuring useful information on the certificates in the upcoming publications.

Consequences of non-compliance:

This is a reminder to members that the certificates could be revoked by Transport Canada if non-compliances occur. Subsection 31(4) of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, stipulates that non-compliance with any of the terms or conditions invalidates the certificate. In addition, subsection 31(6) of the same act gives the Minister, or a designated person, the authority to revoke the certificate. All other requirements of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations must be complied with except for those specified in the certificate.
