ALERT! Federal – Provider in Thailand found to be distributing non-DOT approved cylinders

The CPA is notifying members that Metal Mate, a manufacturer in Thailand, has been producing and selling propane cylinders marked with the DOT 4E or DOT 4BA 240 without receiving approval from the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) to manufacture cylinders that meet the DOT standard. Cylinders marked with the name “Metal Mate” are not DOT approved. These cylinders should not be used to transport dangerous goods, nor should they be considered safe for commercial transport or consumer use.
