ON – Ministry of Transportation reviewing the potential to mandate electronic logging devices for intra-provincial carriers

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation is beginning the process of reaching out to industry to review the potential of mandating the use of electronic logging devices (ELDs) for intra-provincial carriers. No changes have been made to Ontario’s hours of service legislation, Ontario Regulation 555/06 – Hours of Service. Any proposed regulatory changes that impact business will be posted on the Regulatory Registry website for comments, including proposed changes for ELDs.  You can set up an alert on the Regulatory Registry site to receive notification when postings are made about ELDs on the website.

The CPA is reviewing the use of ELD's nation-wide and will inform you of any updates to TC’s amendments or any opportunities to provide feedback. For questions, please contact robertloenhart@propane.ca.
