UPDATE: Federal – Compliance issues with highway tank facilities

Print this Article

The Canadian Propane Association continues to follow compliance concerns with highway tank facilities. Transport Canada provided an update indicating that no further blitzes have been conducted since fall of 2019. TC also noted that registration operations have not been affected during COVID-19 and normal operations continue for the registration process. The status of registered facilities may be reviewed at any time on TC’s website by using their online tool.

The CPA reminds members to renew their certification for their means of containment facilities and to ensure that the facilities they are using are certified by checking the company registration on the Transport Canada website.

For any facilities that are experiencing issues specific to their particular facility, please contac Vice-President of Regulatory Affairs and Safety Robert Loenhart to discuss.

More information on compliance issues with highway tanks can be viewed in past Regulatory Affairs issues: December 19, 2019 and January 30, 2020.
